A little 3D projection of our building that we made recently - thought it looked nice and I would share it with you all. Has anybody sent a letter yet - sure I can reward your support - how would you prove you had sent a letter to the planners? Any suggestions n how to do that? I'm sure they could be exchanged for a sumptuous coffee or the like - shall we do something like this?

  1. trade them for free climbs or well paid jobs at your wall

  2. By having a copy of the letter and a copy of their reply (having previously asked for one acknowledging it). Its worth keeping on the planners side but sometimes you'll need to disagree and fight your case - an architect should be able to do this for you -far less stressful, but has a cost and takes longer

From experience of building a house and Alien Rock climbing wall, keep those records and get everything in writing ,tedious as it is. You'll appreciate that when the arguments start !

  3. I'm happy to put you in contact with an architect in Liverpool should you wish. I study it here and am happy to help you achieve this wall in any way shape or form!

  4. Genuine thanks for the advice (Reuben) and offer of support (Ghostface - who I see is also Monolith from UKB). In fact Reuben as a start up climbing wall getting advice from yourself feels a little bit like being advised by Mr Miaggi! However unlike the tempestuous teen Daniel San, I see the value of the advice straight away and will not need persuading via hours of waxing!

  5. Hi Ged,

Correcto! Seriously, if I can refer you on to anybody of use, be it good quality joiners, architects etc I'll be sure to help.

We're all rooting for you. I was wondering the other night whether you might be able to set up the letter to the council as an email form or is it presumably only in writing that they accept correspondence?

    Bests,

    Tom.

  6. I will investigate whether or not email is acceptable as this would clearly be better for everyone! As and when the requirement for people to help arises, which it will! I will post, so thanks for the offer, it is good to know that my pleas will not fall on unsympathetic ears. At this stage however i understand why so many climbers say I'd love to start my own wall, but never do. The last six months of my life have been near devoid of climbing and I'm sure I'll get RSI's from typing soon!!! Hopefully the interesting stuff, like building is not far off, please planners! C'mon!!! Getting bored now!
